Westbourne Park Primary School
Westbourne Park, South Australia

Hodgkison worked alongside Westbourne Park Primary School to refresh and refurbish existing Infrastructure and design new buildings, allowing the school to grow to meet the needs of its growing community.

Our approach focused on improving wayfinding, connectivity, and circulation between spaces within the school while softening hard surfaces and bringing natural elements into the built environment. This approach resulted in a design that improves the school’s street presence while making a positive statement about local education.

This project focused on two buildings:

The first is a prominent, street-facing building ideally located to become a refurbished administrative wing for the school. The refurbishment focused on creating an entryway to the school that welcomes students, staff and visitors to the campus, while improving street presence.

The second, was a refurbishment of the heritage listed Marlborough Building. Adapting the building into a central hub for the school, with improved spaces for performing arts, specialist educators, and a state-of-the-art resource centre. This new centre has become the focal point for the school and is centrally accessible to all students.
