Zion Early Learning Centre

The Boards of Immanuel Lutheran primary school and Zion Preschool have combined and relocated the preschool to the Immanuel site. The design of the Early Learning Centre celebrates natural light and biophilic principles and caters for 66 children in accordance with the early childhood licensing requirements.
The site falls over 4 metres away from the adjacent street creating design issues for sewer and stormwater disposal.
The new building adjoins a local heritage house which is used for staff facilities and playgroup. To account for the slope, the new building is 1.8m lower than the house and retaining walls have been constructed around the outdoor play areas which adjoin the primary schools basketball court.
