Farewell George Apollonio

Recently, we bid a fond farewell to a long term Hodgie George Apollonio, who entered his well-earned retirement last month. George has been a part of the Hodgkison team for over 27 years, joining us in 1996. Over those years, George rose to the position of Principal Architect, and guided our team in the design of many innovative projects across Australia as a Design Principal.

George brought unique creativity and thought to his role, combining his expertise and experience to create considered designs, enhancing people’s experience within the built environment. He brought a practical approach to design problems, supporting our team to deliver fresh and cost-effective solutions.

Long a source of friendly, fun conversation in the office, George helped everyone feel welcome while at work. From film and television references to DIY, hardware and building advice, he was and remains a constant source of knowledge who is always keen to share his thoughts and contribute.

While we will miss seeing him in the office each day, we are happy to know that he is enjoying his time at home with his family. We wish him well in his retirement and, while he may not be part of the team anymore, he will always be part of our community. He has left an undeniable mark on Hodgkison over the years, and we will always carry his most important lesson with us:

That there is ‘Always a reason for cake’

Thank you again and best of luck to George!
